See our First Day of Kindergarten Photo above! Thanks April Rodell!
(I will replace this photo shortly with another that April sent that has Kyra's eyes open. Will send copy of the "good" photo home with each child.)
What an awesome start we had last week! Your children are transitioning wonderfully. I am priviledged to be your child's teacher! No, we didn't catch snakes during recess as one of your precious little ones came home and told his mother, but we did build many wonderful memories and began to move into a routine.
This week please drop-off and pick up you child at the normal carpool location. Thanks to those who texted me with any carpool changes last week. The parapros will be greeting the children at 8:00 a.m. and I will come up to the Main Entrance around 8:15. Remember biker shorts or soffees for girls under dresses.

Book of the Week: Amber on the Mountain by Tony Johnston
This delightful book is about a little girl is rural Appalachia who doesn't have a school. A girl comes to the mountain who can read and the girls inspire one another to learn many important things including reading. We'll be discussing friendship, family, roles, handling dissapointment, and perserverance. We'll also read Rumplestiltzkin this week to compare his response to dissapointment to Ambers.
Habit of the Month: beginning Habits in September contininuing P.E.A.R.L. Rule
Our themes of this week (tying into Amber on the Mountain) are friendship and perserverance.
